What is Flash Animation?

Developed by Macromedia, flash is a type of computer animation that utilizes fast loading, small files and has built in interactive controls.  Most people see Flash animation on the web in the form of banner ads.  But it can be used in far more interesting ways.  The Control Panel above is a Flash file that incorporates an animated logo, fast loading raster graphics, and interactive buttons.  Flash can also embed sound files and video files to provide a flexible multimedia experience.  With a powerful scripting language, the possibilities for Flash are boundless.  Not only can Stasis Publishing Arizona create Flash Ads (banner, or custom-sized like the ad in the upper left corner) and control panels/buttons for web sites, but we can use it to create interactive programs that run from CDs or your computer's hard drive.

This sample animation is typical in approach, if not size and shape, of a web page ad.  It is similar to the ad in the top left corner of the screen with moving text, but this one uses picture files that move through the animation.  This one is just the animation, but the one in the corner is a link to another page on this site.

This is an example of a drop-down menu system. The menu options are more samples of Flash Animation.  The movie is a small cartoon, but is a large file because music is  embedded into it, which increases the download time.
